A Responsive Day in Lincoln
The rain clouds hung low over Lincoln as we made our way to the city centre. After a morning of teaching from Living Waters Europe, numerous conference attendees were interested in sharing the good news.
I started the preaching by speaking on “How Can You Be Sure You’ll Go to Heaven?” Nearly instantly, a group of young male university students stopped. I was able to engage them in discussion and walk through the gospel. At the end of the message, eight people took copies of John’s Gospel; team members were then able to have numerous conversations with those who listened. A local pastor came up to say he was encouraged by the open-air, and that he now sees it is an effective form of outreach.
Next to preach was Tim. He spoke about the Resurrection and suffering. I didn’t get to hear much of the message as I was brought into a conversation with a man who was very delusional. He claimed to have met the Father and Son, and that they told him the Bible is wrong. He also declared he alone is true and everyone else is wrong. It was a hard conversation, but we did managed to sting him with a few gospel truths. May the Lord humble him.
With only a few minutes remaining, Andy preached the final message from 1 Timothy 1:15. It was a short message, but people listened, and one man took a Gospel of John.
During this lunchtime outreach we saw 13 people respond to the preaching and sharing of the gospel by taking copies of the Scripture. Please pray for all those who heard the good news.
