oUTREACH REPORT 2019
Please pray for all those we spoke to today; the darkness was great, but the light still shines. This really struck me when as I was handing out tracts among thousands of people celebrating paganism, a lone piper began to play Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. Even though the darkness celebrated, there in the midst of the darkness was God’s amazing grace!
In Psalm 37:23, we are told that the steps of a righteous / good man are ordered by the Lord. Today, I saw a very practical outworking of that biblical truth; the Lord’s providence was clearly displayed in Redcliffe.
John shook my hand and said, “Thank-you for talking to me and answering my questions. When I was a child my Pastors would not answer the hard questions, yet you stand here and give me very good answers. If they had answered, I am sure my life would be much different.”
Upon hearing this they both smiled and said, “That makes sense.” The young man then said, “I am so glad you guys are here. I can approach you and ask questions. It is great that you are here to help me understand about God.”
Some days I come home from witnessing with a spring in my step as it had been a good day of gospel ministry… today was not one of those days.
God-willing, in December 2019 we will move from Australia to Cornwall in the United Kingdom, where I have accepted a call to become a Missionary / Pastor at Newquay Reformed Baptist Church.
I then said to him, “Zane, if I said to you that you deserve Hell, but now you have to work really hard so that God may one day let you into Heaven, would that be good news?” He replied that would be terrible. I then followed up, “Zane, if I said to you that you deserve Hell, but Jesus paid the fine for those who trust in Him, would that be good news?” Zane smiled and exclaimed, “That would be tremendous news!”
A day of conversations with Politicians, Roman Catholics, Freemasons and the Indifferent.
The son of a Methodist Pastor thought the way to Heaven was through living a decent life. Read about what happened next.
As I preached I noticed a number of people stop to listen. One lady came out of a shop, then quickly returned into the store in order to get a notepad and pen. It turns out that she was a new Christian who wanted to learn more about the Bible so she took notes on my open-air message.
The most startling and heartbreaking thing for me, was to hear the youngest girl, who would have been about 6 years old say several times, “I don’t believe in God.” She was adamant that God did not exist
One said he had not religious upbringing, the other two said they went to church. It was then that one of them said, “I am a youth leader at my home church.” He then told me about the large Pentecostal church where he was a leader. Well, this information made me change my tactics…
